Earlier today, two nominated #FixTheCountry activists were selected to join other young people in a Youth Leadership Academy. The Academy is organized by LeadAfrique, with funding from the Swedish Centre Party International Foundation (CIS). The CIS which was founded in 1998 has worked to support democracy, human rights, and gender equality around the world. Its main mission is to empower women and youth as key agents of change to strengthen democracies and improve national conditions for peace and prosperity.
The objective of the Academy is to build the capacity of young people to influence decision-making in both formal and informal decision-making processes. It is expected that the Academy will build its capacity in leadership, effective communications, how to conduct social mapping, advocacy, democratic governance, human rights, and how to effect change in society.
The Academy starts today and will close on 29 October 2022.
